We woke at 5:00 am, greeted by the soft glow of the early sunrise that painted the sky in hues of orange and pink. The world around us was still shrouded in a gentle mist, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere as we prepared for our day. With our backpacks secured and water bottles from a nearby gas station, we embarked on an ambitious 9-mile hike that promised not only physical challenge but also breathtaking scenery. The temperatures were perfect for hiking, cool enough to invigorate our senses but gradually warming as the sun began to rise higher in the sky.
