Experience the vibrant spirit of New Orleans during Mardi Gras with us! We dove headfirst into the lively parades and indulged in the city's delicious cuisine, savoring every moment. While we enjoyed the festivities, we chose to spend less time on Bourbon Street, focusing instead on the unique charm and culture that New Orleans has to offer. Join us as we share our unforgettable adventure!

A Day of Parades and Lights
What a fantastic day immersed in the culture of New Orleans! Kicking things off with brunch at the Court of Two Sisters, savoring tasty turtle soup and Cord's first experience with king cake along the tune of a jazz band. Strolling through the shops and Jackson Square was a wonderful way to soak up the lively atmosphere before the day parades. Although there were some hiccups with the floats, it turned out to be a blessing, especially when Cord caught a signed shoe from a Saints player! After a refreshing break and a outfit change for the night parades, we certainly learned the value of bringing chairs along. We wrapped up the day with a late dinner and night cap at Deanie's Seafood for a perfect ending an exciting adventure!

Mardi Gras Kickoff
Lafayette welcomed us with open arms as we arrived just in time for lunch at the Historic Vermilionville Le Cuisine de Maman. The food was wonderful, and we were delighted to catch a glimpse of a smaller parade preparing their floats. Although we didn't have the chance to explore all the historical buildings or take part in the blacksmithing classes, it was the perfect before diving into the city. Plus, their unique beers from ancient recipes added a special touch to our experience. We continued on to arrive in the French Quarter in time to settle into our historic AirbNb. Our host Kieth gave us a great tour of the property and we had just enough time to grab a drink on Bourbon Street before claiming a spot along the evenings parade route.

French Finale
On our last day, we took our time, enjoying a leisurely morning and indulging in some delicious bingettes before hitting the road. The long drive ahead provided us with the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge, allowing us to reflect on the adventures we had while resting our weary feet.
