Group Day Trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park

Day 8

We joined up with a group to hop on a bus tour from Spit to Plitvice Lakes since we missed our tour out there from Zagreb when our flight was delayed. Unfortunately this was the one cold and rainy day on our honeymoon, but it was a blessing in disguise. The cool weather and threat of rain kept the part traffic down. It was still extremely busy but we could not imagine how much busier it would have been in the sun. We did a plethora of walking through the park that could have easily been much more miserable in the heat. The park no longer allows swimming because people's skin products were changing the balance of the water and what creates the beautiful turquoise fresh water. Our guide shared how beavers were becoming a nuisance in the park and actually changing the water falls over time. This hands down one was one of the most beautiful places we have been to and a must see if you are in Croatia.
