Lopud, Odysseuses Cave, Mljet Speedboat Tour

Day 11

Early start for a speedboat tour out to the many islands in the areas. Sea conditions changes the itinerary around so first we went to the island of Lopud for coffee. It seemed like it would be a cute artsy city to shop at had we ended the day there like originally planned. Next our guide took the group to a beach they filmed survivor Croatia on. Water was too rough for us to beach so we moved onto Odysseus's cave. This was Cord must do. Here we got to cliff dive!

Next stop was Mljet Nation Park. We took a ferry on the Fresh water lakes on the island to the church in the middle of the lake. Had a drink then hailed the smaller boat to take us back across to one of the hiking trails to a summit where we can see both the ocean on one side and the lakes on the other. They had sandwiches waiting for us on our return to the speedboat.

Next stop was an island bar/ beach club with the bay on one side open Adriatic on the other. No water polo games were going on but the water was refreshing! From there our last stop was Blue cave a true cave that you had to swim under the water to get into it. I didn't take my phone and risk water damage so no pictures there but it was a truly unique experience. A little dangerous too, I came up too early on the swim back out and hit the cave ceiling a bit.

Once we were back on the mainland, the cruises in the harbor had left to we hit up Dubrovnik Beer Company and dinner in the area now that it was less crowded. Here is the first place I had cider served with ice. I will likely try that again, especially during the hot Texas summers.
